Penguins name all-time team

The Penguins unveiled their all-time team yesterday at the Consol Energy Center and at first glance it appears the usual controversy that surrounds such subjective selections will be missing.

Looks like the voters did a near-perfect job, if you take into account that current players were not eligible. Pretty hard to keep Sidney Crosby off any type of Penguins team unless he’s not under consideration.

The voters, Trib Total Media readers along with contributions from a panel of former media and team personnel, selected players from across almost the entire history of the team -- from Jean Pronovost and Syl Apps to Jaromir Jagr and Tom Barrasso.

The all-time team, which included five Hall of Famers, with years of play and statistics:

FORWARDS

Mario Lemieux (1984-97, 2000-05): 915 GP, 690 G, 1,033 A, 1,723 P

Jaromir Jagr (1990-2001): 806 GP, 439 G, 640 A, 1,079 P

Ron Francis (1991-98): 533 GP, 164 G, 449 A, 613 P
