Steelers inside linebacker James Farrior may have enjoyed his greatest NFL season. He racked up a team-high 146 tackles — the third-highest total of his career — and was captain of a defense that ranked No. 1 in the league in total defense, No. 1 in pass defense and No. 2 in run defense. Farrior was named to his second Pro Bowl, as the Steelers advanced to Super Bowl XLIII against the Arizona Cardinals.

He will share his thoughts leading up to the game all week with Tribune-Review.

Media day

"I got a chance to talk to the media (Tuesday). I got a chance to see a lot of people out there. It was fun. I didn't dislike it. I heard pretty much the same type of questions all day.

"They asked me about Mike Tomlin — a lot — and how was he as a coach and the difference between this year and last year. They asked about the other players. I didn't really get any weird ones this time. It couldn't have been more than 50 questions.

"A few people asked me about my days with the Jets and how I ended up with Pittsburgh, about all the good linebackers they have come through. (They) talked a lot about the fans of Pittsburgh, how well they travel, how supportive they are.

"One guy started off his question asking me about being an undrafted free agent. I said, 'Nah, you've got the wrong James (Harrison).'

"I think everybody had fun. It wasn't too stressful."

Return trip

"Me and the older guys, the guys that were here for the first one, it's kind of unbelievable that you get to play in two Super Bowls. It's hard enough just to get to one. We all just relish the fact that we got a chance to win two. Me, Casey (Hampton), Larry Foote, Troy (Polamalu), a few other people, talked about it."

Eating out

"(Monday) night, me, pretty much all of the defensive backs and (linebackers) Arnold Harrison and Andre Frazier went out to eat, and then, we just met up with everybody else later on. We went to the Ocean Prime restaurant, right by a mall. We had a car pick us up. It's a great seafood place. Excellent food. You ought to try it out. I had blackened trout with some kind of sauce on it. Everybody enjoyed their food, so we might go back.

"They've got food here for us (in the hotel), buffet-style, downstairs, like pregame meals. You've got room service.

"I think guys just want to go around, see what's close. I probably won't even come out of this hotel the next few days."
